vlog :: vlog ideas

Hello and welcome to May!

I am so excited to have another set of Chantilly/Elycia vlogs to share with you guys! Like, so, so excited. Chantilly and I had a lot of fun filming this new set and we can't wait to show you what we got up to. Our first vlog is extra vloggy because we talk about vlogs and give you some suggestions for vlog topics. Vlog. I am trying to use that word as much as possible in this introduction. Just a warning: I got a little silly while editing this so on with the vlog!

    i left a comment on thursday's post, but i read your blog too, so i thought i would comment here as well! :)

    i once asked my readers to leave me questions they would like to have answered via vlog. i was surprised at the response i got, and have had lots of fun answering the questions.

    like you said, i feel like if my readers watch my vlogs and hear some of the random things i say, they can understand my writing just a little bit more.

    You two are fabulous. Can you do an entire vlog on making a craft room (or a whole house) cat safe? I'm about to adopt a cat and I have so much anxiety around this! Is cute, cat-friendly craft supply display possible?!

      ohhhh that's a fun challenge. Luckily my kitties never get into my craft supplies. If it's not food Farva doesn't really care and if it's not a plastic bag, Anakin won't bother with it.

    So super cute...you guys are like Hall & Oates. That's the level of fabulous you're at :p

    I haven't done a vlog SUPER recently but a month or so ago I did one on the "story" of my engagement. My story was so not exciting and people were asking about what it was so I figured it would be a smidge more interesting if I recorded it. Plus...there's cats.

    You guys are the best!! I loved this one and it gave me a few ideas for some vlogs :) It was good to see you the other day, though briefly. I'm excited for Blog Podium, let's get some plans happening soon with that! Seeing as it is your birthday and all, you should be the one who decides ;)

    I was planning on doing my first vlog this weekend with one of those old myspace surveys haha, I just find the questions funny and I wanted to break into vlogging a bit more. Thanks for all these other great suggestions too!

    Ok, I never wanted to vlog really, but now I kind of do? This was so cute and funny and the slow-motion and what not made me giggle and rewind. LOVE IT!

    Haha I love how you edited this! I'm a little shy about making a vlog but I might try and venture into that territory sometime soon. I'd at least like to try and make a process video of a painting or art piece :)

    I would love to do a vlog!! I guess my question is more the technical side of things... (and please direct me to a post if you've already explained this somewhere). Do you use a camera or just the webcam on your computer? What do you use to edit your vlogs? I want to start vlogging and have some ideas, but don't know where to start technically... I'd love some suggestions! Thanks! :D

      Hi! We haven't talked about that anywhere. For this vlog we used my NIkon D7000 but I have made many with the camera on my MacBook Pro.

      For editing I use iMovie and I believe Chantilly uses Windows Movie Maker. There are fancier things out there but for these vlogs those do the trick!

    OMG Elycia, I can totally see your face change when you realized you wanted to steal that garden idea. Please never stop vlogging. I love these. Maybe someday I'll vlog. Or even blog again. But in reality I'll probably keep laying on my couch eating food and watching old seasons of Survivor. COOLEST PERSON EVER ALERT.

    Ok SO I have been wanting to do a vlog for the longest time but I've come to realize that my editing software is faulty and my computer is a little too old to care. Soon I'll have to pony up and just do a one-take video I guess.

    Today on my blog I did add my first video though! We just got two baby goats and it is a little snippet of them jumping on my back! I even combined it with an outfit post - another thing I rarely do. Big steps over here!

    It was taken on my phone... so I can only improve from here on out pretty much. But I loved being able to share something on video (even if it was after dark. oops!)
