photos :: cat update

I feel like it has been quite a while since the kitties have got any action over here. They are definitely one of my favourite things in the world and I love taking photos of them so here are a few of my favourites from the last while.
Farva was laying with Ivan while he was snoozing on the couch. It looked like he was guarding him!
As I've mentioned a few times, Anakin has turned into a major diva when it comes to photos. He'll allow 1 or 2 with his diva face on and then he gets up and walks away.
I love when my kitties sit together on the couch.
Farva has been a little bit brattier than usual lately. He has become obsessed with trying to steal food from people and jumping up on the table. It's probably because we are feeding him a little less so that he loses his little hanging tummy. When we have four people at the table he will keep trying to jump up until I get him his special chair so that he can sit and see what's going on on the table. It works every time! He is so silly. This is his special chair and it is my favourite to take pictures with as well.
Another funny thing about Farva: he will wear anything you put on him and not try to take it off. I think it's because he likes to be fancy.

Kind of off topic but a funny cat related story. Has anyone seen the movie 'Future'? Well if you have you know the little cat voice that starts the movie. Ivan and I tried to watch it the other day and when the voice started I almost started crying. Then a few minutes into the movie where they go to get the cat from the shelter and the voice starts again saying completely adorable things, I started sobbing. We had to stop watching because I was too stressed out about what was going to happen to the cat.
The next day I went to the movies with friends and there was this part where I thought a dog was going to get hit by a car and I started crying. It didn't even come close to happening! I've always known I was a major wimp when it came to animals but I feel like it's getting even worse! I just love them so much.

  1. I can't watch anything where there's a possibility that an animal will get hurt. I want to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but I know there's a scene with a cat :( I cried during Babe Pig in the City hahahaha I feel your pain!

  2. I always get that way when watching Homeward Bound when the cat goes over the waterfall, tears everytime! Loving Farva in his neckerchief that face is hilarious!x

  3. I beautiful orange and white cat ran out in front of my car about a week ago and I thought I was going to lose it. I didn't even hit the poor thing, but I couldn't stop thinking about how awful I would feel if I had!

Those pictures of Farva crack me up. He does look fancy! haha. I haven't tried to dress up my cat Zoe yet, but I have a feeling she wouldn't like it.

  4. Oh Elycia, I feel your pain, I think I've been extra sensitive since I lost one of my kitties late last year. I was crying watching The Lady With 700 Cats and anytime it even looks like a kitty (or any animal for that matter) might get hurt, I just want to turn it off. I used to be so tough :( You're not alone!

  5. Farva DOES look fancy. Anakin is beautiful too. I cried during "The Future" - the little voice and when they'd show Paw-Paw's sweet feet. And when they messed up and didn't get him, I was bawling like a baby. That movie went on my sh*t list because of that.

  6. Farva seems like such a little character :)
I get the same way with films with animals. I just can't stand to watch those things - it makes me feel sick to my stomach :(

  7. I am EXACTLY the same way! Have you seen Breakfast at Tiffany's? Audrey Hepburn throws her cat into an alley in the rain!!! I started sobbing so hard my husband was completely shocked (we were newly wed at the time - he wouldn't be so surprised now haha) and vowed to hate Audrey Hepburn forever.

  8. a-freakin-dorable! And my husband and I both cry over sad animal scenes. Sometimes I think he's worse than I am! ha!!

  9. Ahah, my dog is the same as Anakin, he gets so snobish about having a photo taken and 9/10 times will get up and leave. Your kitties are adorable.

  10. I for sure cried during The Future as well, but I powered through and watched the whole thing. It was too sad. I had to remind myself that it was imaginary but then I also remembered how there are so many kitties in shelters. Ugh.

    1. I was literally, no exaggeration, sobbing when they showed the cat for the first time! There was no way I could handle whatever else happened! So glad I didn't watch it. I already want to adopt another cat from a shelter! If I lived alone I would definitely have too many!

  11. I'm the same way. I actually will cry for an animal before a human most of the time. (At least in movies and stuff.)
Your black and white cat looks like my cat that just passed, Shadoobee. He was my favourite! My baby! And seventeen - pretty old for a kitty. And he had a beautiful, happy, healthy long life. :)
I love cats so much it's a little ridiculous. :)

  13. oh, i can remember crying buckets when a bear caught a fish on tv. my family thought it was funny, those heartless beasts! j/k, they love animals too, but they don't get emotional like i do. i am super sensitive to animal pain.

  14. Awww...Farva looks so full of personality :)

Also your mini kitty necklaces are amazing....my kitty is my best friend I would totally wear a mini version of her!

  15. I am the exact same when it comes to tv and movies. If a person gets brutally murdered, nothing. If there's a violin solo and an image of an animal, I cry so hard my make up goes all Alice Cooper. I am an embarrassment.

oh gosh when i saw the future in the theater i was sobbing! so sad! a few years ago we went to see marley and me on christmas and my jaw hurt afterwards because i was trying not to sob outloud in the theater. i don't know why i do that to myself!

  18. i love that farva lets you dress him up a bit. it totally ups his class factor. ;)

  19. Oh I am exactly the same whenever animals are in movies or on TV, I think it is because in all animal films the main animal always dies in the end. Warning: Do NOT EVER watch Marley & Me! God, I was clinging onto my dog for days after that one. I love all animals so much, so I am always drawn to the pics of animals in newspapers too, but it's always a horrid story and they stay with me and get to me so much I have to avoid them now. But having said that these cute photos of your kitties have put a happy smile on my face.

    P.S have u seen this? http://catversushuman.blogspot.co.uk/

    1. Oh, I assumed that I should not watch Marley & Me! As a rule I avoid any movie with an animal as the main character. Also, I don't like movies where the people have pets. Especially horror movies or dramas because there is a good chance something will happen to the animal.
I'm glad my kitties made you smile!!

  21. Future is mostly likely the saddest movie I've ever seen. But I love Miranda July. She wrote, directed, and acted in it. As well as doing the voice of the kitty. I bawled my eyes out through the whole film!!

  22. I need Farva to come talk to my cats about being fancy....at least the wearing things part of being fancy. They really don't know what they are missing. ;D

  23. I had a dog that loved wearing a scarf. And he was no dainty dog, he was 120 pounds. I had to buy him more than one because he would stress out and pace the laundry room on wash day. I tried to start watching The Walking Dead but the first episode and the scene with the horse totally turned me off of it. :(

  24. I'm super sensitive too with stuff like that, even with cartoon type movies, last night my boyfriend and I watched How to train your dragon, and it made me tear up so many times just cause of the sweet relationship between the dragon and the boy. <3

  25. George wants to know if Farva is cold and that's why he's wearing a scarf. She seems very concerned.

  26. Oh, The Future broke my heart. My boyfriend even got a bit sniffly; his secret soft side has come out since we got our cats (neither of whom would wear clothes, alas).

  27. Oh, I really enjoyed 'The Future'...until the end. That movie broke my little kitty-loving heart. I'd say if you were crying in the beginning, don't try to watch to the end!

My cats will refuse to wear anything on them. I gave up after many unsuccessful reindeer ear hat attempts. :)

  28. I'm a terrible wimp when it comes to animals too! I've never seen that movie, but hearing that I don't even want to watch it! I adore your kitties, that little black patch under Farva's chin is just too adorable!

  29. You comments have confirmed that I made the right decision by not watching that movie! and oops, it was called "The Future", not just "Future" as most of you already knew!
The Netflix description should give a warning that there is sad cat stuff in the movie! There are mega animal wimps out there that just can't handle that kind of stress!

  30. I once ran over a frog and cried. I also try to avoid all caterpillars in the road when I'm driving in the country.

  31. That movie was pretty ridiculous all around, but that voice was sooooo sad! Poor, poor Paw-Paw :(

  33. It's okay, whenever my mom an I watch any movies or shows with dogs or cats, we always say "nothing better happen to that cat/dog! Or I'm not watching it anymore!"
