We spent a tiny bit of time at the beach and spotted our first dolphin fin!
We went on a little sight-seeing cruise where we really got to see dolphins. They are just so adorable...and there were even little ones!
We admired some nature and saw lots of birds and an alligator!
We also admired some pretty vintage. The thrift stores we visited were nothing special (maybe just not good timing) but the antique stores had some great stuff! I got a silly pair of shoes that I love.
We ate the yummiest falafels ever and drank a bunch of different kinds of beer. Ontario doesn't have the most impressive beer selection (silly LCBO) so we always get excited to visit the stores in the States and see all the different yummy beers.
It was so nice to relax and enjoy some beautiful sunshine. We kind of want to move somewhere that is always warm but I guess we'll stay put for now ;)♥elycia
Florida... you lucky duck! Our honeymoon was there & one day hope to get back. On a side note... if I have been reading your blog for maybe @ a month now... why did I have no idea you were Canadian & in Toronto?!? Found that discovery most fun. We too are Ontarians (is that a word). Just think... we are almost in March & the sounds of Robins are not too far off. Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteCool! Are you close by Hamilton? It's so neat meeting other ontarians! (sure it's a word)
DeleteNot super close by but close enough... a bit of a drive (guessing no more than 90 minutes). Ontarians... the more I say that word the more it doesn't sound like one. lol. So glad to have "met" you and maybe one day our paths will cross (although I believe I must be at least a decade older & possibly quite boring). ;-) lol. Will continue to check in on your blog... it is great fun & I just adore it.
DeleteThis looks like so much fun! I love the dolphin pictures. I'm so jealous but so glad you had a great time! xo, rv

you guys are too cute! Rogue is by far my favorite brand, next time you see some you should try their Coffee or Chocolate Porter. (I'm a sucker for warm porter, especially when it's chilly out)
ReplyDeleteHow come everyone is hitting the beach and I'm not! So jealous! It looks like you had a lovely time. That vintage shop looked so fun too. <3
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, we get Rogue beer here in Victoria. I wonder why it's not available in Ontario! (I've never seen it in Alberta either.)
ReplyDeleteWe get a tiny bit of Rogue in Ontario very occasionally. When we were in Alberta there was way better beer. I think it's because our stuff is so regulated in Ontario with the LCBO and the Beer Store. Those are the only places you can get beer so whatever they say goes.
DeleteSo glad you enjoyed your time in Florida! Looks like you managed to miss the bad weather, lucky you! The beach is great this time of year, I love it.

This looks like it was a blast!! I love your dress + your nails!!! I love all the different ways you paint your nails!! :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh that red dress is so beautiful! I love trips to warm places! I am glad you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I live in Florida and am often wishing we lived somewhere cooler. Not cold though, because I hate the snow! It can just get unbearably hot here (I live in Orlando) during the summer. Glad you enjoyed your time here! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you guys had a lot of fun! I live in Florida over toward the Gulf in Tampa and let me tell you it is wonderful weather now but once we get into July & August when it is 100 degrees I would be so grateful to be living some where cooler!
ReplyDeleteThe afternoon rain showers are very predictable though, you can almost set your watch by them!
I love the red & white dress you're wearing in the first picture! :)

What's LCBO?
ReplyDeleteYour pictures look so sunny! I miss Florida!
LCBO is the "Liquor Control Board of Ontario". They are controlling ;)

So glad you had a great trip! LOVE that red dress! & the colours of those bowls & plates are so pretty together.
ReplyDeleteAhhh I love visiting the States & getting different types of beer, too! I wish the Beer Store & LCBO stocked more... ha.
I also love that dress and the dark hair looks so nice. I think I'm going to copy your nails this week.
ReplyDeleteYou'll find that Florida vintage and thrift stores are never the best. I live here and can never seem to find that something special ever!

Aww looks like SO much fun! I would give anything to be down in Florida right about now. The beach sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteHey! Where in Florida did y'all go? I live 5 minutes from the Al/Fl line, only an hour and a half from the beach! :)
ReplyDeleteWe were in Naples! We drove down though so we may have passed through your neighbourhood!
Deletethis looks like a ton of fun! i love the photos of the thrift/vintage shops - and the dolphins are beautiful. your red dress is adorable, by the way.
ReplyDeletei can't wait to go to florida for a long trip in april - this gets me even more excited!
great shots, looks like amazing time :)
ReplyDeletemmm, i love falafel. your trip looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteOhh I love seeing dolphins! Alligators freak me out though - they live in the lake behind my mister's house D: I'm sure Florida would be exciting to visit, but when you consider living in this heat and humidity all year long, it isn't nearly as exciting...

I always find that I can never find anything good in the Hamilton thrift stores either. :P Glad you enjoyed Florida! I want to make it my yearly vacation now-just so I can get butter beer at Harry Potter world.
ReplyDeleteI find lots of great things in the Hamilton thrift stores! I must be snagging it all before you get there ;)
Deleterogue beer!!?! that is the real san francisco treat!

Your nails are so cute!
ReplyDeleteahhh! You have that dear creatures dress that I totally love. And the camera bag that I wanted. Can I raid your closet? :)
ReplyDeleteaw you guys are adorable! xx
ReplyDeleteI love Naples! Wow - you guys look like you had a great time :)
ReplyDeleteYour trip looks lovely! :) Your dress is really pretty and the weather is awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteOntario not known for beer?! My fondest memories of Toronto (ok, I'm sure it is part of the typical tendency of a major city to be nothing like the surrounding region) are of drinking tons of beer with my cool-ass uncle in Cabbagetown. Of course, all his friends are home-brewers so this may not be a typical experience.
ReplyDeleteWe do have some yummy beers in Ontario. One of my favourite breweries is actually in Mississauga/Toronto. There are some awesome beer places in Toronto but they are bars and not actual stores and therefore much more expensive! ha!
DeleteWow, those dolphin pictures are AMAZING! I'm so jealous! Looks like a super fun trip - always nice to go somewhere warm in the winter!
ReplyDeleteMegan
I love your red & white dress, and those dolphins look super cute! What a great holiday.
ReplyDeletewhere in florida did you go? i have family in miami, so i visit quite often. i love it! but probably for different reasons :) [yay family!]
ReplyDeleteWe were in Naples!
DeleteIm about 45 minutes from Naples. I love seeing and hearing people get so excited to see alligators, dolphins and manatees.
ReplyDelete...things Floridians take for granted.
What else did you do in Naples?
We went kayaking, saw "panther traffic" signs, got an oil change (ha!), went swimming, etc...
DeleteI'm jealous that you live there!!
Everyone says that! Jealousy would quickly disappeared if you experienced the days where you walk outside and have instant pit sweat(lol) and frizzy rats nest hair! Heat and humidity is horrible.
DeleteAnywaysss if you venture back down to south west Florida you should check out Venice Beach. The beach is full of sharks teeth.
Shark teeth hunting!

I love your nails! I wish I could keep mine painted, but I just have no patience for that. :-P
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun on your trip! I'm longing for some warmer weather, but my next trip is to Laramie, Wy, so I'll just be heading to even colder weather. Boo. The things I do for my friends...
Yay! Oregon Beers! Rogue is a really great locel brewery here in Oregon. They have apublic house in Eugene, were I go and play bingo and win beer! It's pretty neat. they have other good products like ciders and cheeses.
ReplyDeleteEeee, such a vacation! Woo! I especially love all the nature you saw. I thought I was one of the only people who took pictures of spiders in their web! :D
