Wow, I think I set a personal record for the number of pieces in my outfit today. That is quite a long list!
Some days I feel like people might think I am colour blind. This was one of those days. Last weekend I went to a Flea/Antique Market and I was getting some interesting looks. I am normally pretty oblivious and don't notice people looking at me so I know it was pretty bad if I actually noticed! I absolutely love playing with colour in my outfits though so I will deal with a couple strange looks ;) Does anyone else get strange looks sometimes?
I kind of can't believe that these shoes have not made it into an outfit post yet. They are one of my current favourites and have been in high rotation for the few months I have had them.
One last thing to mention...my necklace! I have always wanted a steampunk style necklace and was super excited when Liz offered to send me something from her shop. Don't forget to enter the giveaway for a chance to win an item of your choice from Liz's shop Craft to the Radio!

I know how you feel about the strange looks. Sometimes I'll put together an outfit and it looks great at home, but some people take a double take when I wear it out in public. I guess it's sometimes too colorful or it's not suitable with the weather. Haha :)
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit posts- you're so adorable!

I don't know how anyone could give you strange looks. All those colors may not match, but they definitely all seem to go together. I especially love the color of your cardigan next to the color of your hat.
ReplyDeleteYou're just so gosh darn cute!

cute cute cute...love your booties :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, with my bright purple coat and my bright red scarf and hat and my bright yellow gloves and the fact that I usually wear brightly coloured tights and shoes... I get stared at ALL THE TIME. I once had a small boy kneel down in front of me and urge his dad to "worship the green shoes". How do I deal with it...? Um... I don't know; I just kind of don't think about it any more - at best, it might cheer somebody up to see much colour; at worst, someone unpleasant might get to feel clever for coming up with a snide remark about it. Makes no difference to me.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! I love all of the colors. xo, rv

haha I hate when people stare or give me looks so it's hard for me to dress too colorful in public. I hate that other people can dictate how you dress. Kudos to you for having the balls to rock this outfit though :)

I love getting to layer on the colors in winter! The pop of color is refreshing on dreary days. But yes, it does warrant the crazy looks sometimes :) I love that hat- what a great score!
ReplyDeleteI love all your brightly colored outfits! :D Between my pink hair and the clothes I like, my family gets annoyed at all the staring I encounter when we go out in public. (I live in a VERY small southern town!) I don't even notice it anymore.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Cute shoes!!
I CERTAINLY get lots of strange looks!! But that just makes me feel better about what I'm wearing, that people notice me because I'm not wearing what everyone else is ;) Those shoes are so cute!!! :D

those are cute shoes, I love your gram's jacket and yes mixing colors i uber fun! I get the looks from time to time, specially when my boyfriend looks so humble and cute by my side (all colorful). Thou it depends on the mood! I've always loved your mixing of colors.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about people staring you look super cute.
ReplyDeleteyou might be wearing a lot of different colours but girl, you make it work so why the heck not? everytime i wear a lot of colour (which isn't too often) i always think of you and think 'elycia would be proud of me today' haha, i still have a hard time wearing coloured tights, i'm just not a big colour gal. maybe i need to make that plunge and dye my hair blue like i said i wanted to and then colour will become my bff, haha.
ReplyDeletealso: come back.
:)
I love how you dress and if I stare it is only admiration :)
ReplyDeleteI get a lot of strange looks too- as well as comments. But I live in a super conservative southern city and I'm going to a small-ish college where all the girls wear skin tight jeans and layers of skin tight shirts with nothing noticeable except that they were probably all purchased off the same mannequin down at Westgate Mall.
I hope that those of us who wear color will inspire everyone else to use fashion as a way to express themselves and have more confidence to be as unique as I know we all are!
What a bombshell! I especially love the combination of the colours of the booties and the tights. 50's seafoam green is my favourite colour, and I love good a nude shoe!
ReplyDeleteI just loooove the colorSPLASH in your outfit here! I would say that I often get looks from people, but it doesn't bother me. I think it's fun so let the people think what they want to think, right?
ReplyDeleteThe clothes go well together! I'd wear it! Let people think what they wanna think. You just be you. Ps. The necklace and shoes are awesome! I need to enter that giveaway... :)
ReplyDeleteThe skirt!!!!!! Swoony, swoon swoon!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure everyone was staring because you're so beautiful! ;)
ReplyDeleteaw thanks everyone, you are too sweet :)
ReplyDeletei love all the cute colors!

i love all the color in your outfits!! i often feel strange too, because i throw all kinds of colors/ patterns together when i dress. sometimes, i get the feeling that i'm a crazy cat lady cliche :P but it's the willingness to experiment that makes you unique and lovely to so many others!
ReplyDeleteGogeous :) Brilliant mix of colors - love the red hat with your pink hair especially :)
ReplyDeleteI love it how you're not afraid to mix colors! Everything looks amazing!
