I have two favorite traditions. The first is every year we do a Christmas craft together as a family. The second is crowding into a room for a sister sleepover at my parent on Christmas eve. We end up giggling the night away and sleeping in a cuddly heap. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that vintage envelope necklace! So unique and pretty!
ReplyDeletetracey.tilley@gmail.com
I love her long, brass skeleton key necklaces! We had skeleton keys at my old house and I wish I had thought to steal one before we moved. This would make a fond reminder!
ReplyDeleteRosie868@aol.com
I also liked Craft to the Radio on facebook.
ReplyDeleteRosie868@aol.com
Aaaaand my favourite holiday tradition is my family competition: the first person to hear Jose Feliciano's hit "Feliz Navidad" on the radio wins, and they have to call everyone in the family while it's playing to prove it. To me, the Christmas season doesn't start until there's a winner! (which occasionally happens in October but who cares?!?)
ReplyDeleteRosie868@aol.com
I would choose the Vintage Skeleton Key Necklace.
ReplyDeleteGreat Giveaway!

My favorite holiday tradition is having a gift from "Santa". As a kid almost all my gifts came from "Santa" but as I got older my mom still wrapped and labeled from "Santa" on a few gifts. Now that I'm on my own I still label some from Santa even if they're mine just because :)

ReplyDeleteFor me the holiday season starts December 5th. That's when we celebrate 'Sinterklaas' in The Netherlands (not really the same as Santa Claus). I make/buy gifts for my friends and family and write silly poems about those gifts for them. My favourite tradition!

ReplyDeleteOoh the monogram necklace is definitely my favourite! Simple design but so, so pretty.
ReplyDeletewillemien.wiggers @ gmail.com
My favourite holiday tradition is part of the Dutch holiday of Sinterklaas.
ReplyDeleteDavid Sedaris explains the holiday of Sinterklaar in a rather amusing way (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbJpRLhaSqs) but basically he is the original santa.
My favourite tradition surrounding Sinterklaas is 'surprises' about which Wikipedia says: Poems can still accompany bigger gifts as well. Instead of such gifts being brought by Sinterklaas, family members may draw names for an event comparable to Secret Santa. Gifts are to be creatively disguised (for which the Dutch use the French word "surprise"), and are usually accompanied by a humorous poem which often teases the recipient for well-known bad habits or other character deficiencies
Its all super quirky and there's lots of other silly traditions surrounding Sinterklaas, but its so. much. fun! <3

A Christmas Tradition: My family adopted the "Pickle" ornament tradition a few years ago and it provided hours of holiday entertainment. Basically you get one of those gorgeous blown glass ornaments in the shape of a pickle and hide it in your tree. The Traditional Tradition is that the first person to find the pickle gets to open the first present of Christmas, but my brothers and I just played hide-and-seek with it all season. We've gone through three pickles already. Those things get a lot of use.
