tutorial :: chevron nails


After seeing this tutorial for chevron nails (and realizing I didn't have the zig zag plate in my kit) I decided to do my own version. All you need is some regular nail polish and a nail pen! Here's what I did...

Paint your nails as you normally would. I have a white nail pen so I choose light-ish colours for my base. I think it would look really cute with even lighter base colours, the look would be more subtle.

Get our your nail pen. Starting at the bottom of your nail, draw line after line of zig zags until your whole nail is covered. You can make them as close together as you would like. Unless you have a helper you will also need to draw some zig zags with your "wrong" hand. Surprisingly it isn't that hard, it is just a little slower than your "right" hand.

Look how cute!

    i need to get those pens, makes doing little details like that so much easier. really really hard to get tiny things done with a huge nail polish brush. i love this and will for sure try it!

    kitty bee berns: please don't yell at me but I didn't get a vegan nail pen :( i don't know if they exist. I haven't transferred my vegan-ness over to nail polish yet! I know I should.

    daphinitly: it is essie and the colour is chinchilly, it is one of my favourites!

    anonymous: i use manic panic and punky colors. The way my hair looks now is kind of mixture of a bunch of different colours from those brands.
