Here are the before and after photos...
Not a super big change, but I think it makes the dress extra cute. And...it was so easy. I have recently made friends with the glue gun so I asked it to help me with this project. I just started the ric-rac at the back where the zipper is and glued it around the neckline all the way to the other side of the zipper. Easy? Easy.

ReplyDeleteThat's cute :)! I can't believe you did it with a glue gun. Do you think you can wash it that way?

So so cute!!! A very simple yet elegant touch. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAhahha the last photo made me crack up. You're a stunner, Elycia. And I love the look of the dress when paired with the brown belt!
ReplyDeleteIt looks adorable now... I love how such a subtle thing can make a BIG change. Very nice. :) And the belt and shoes pull the whole thing together wonderfully. Sea Marie
ReplyDeleteit looks very pretty..:)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I put my bra on not thinking about what I'm wearing and forget what's happening until I get to work and think...wow. You're an idiot. I love this dress. i love the ric rac. I love you. So much love.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was safe with a white bra yesterday (isn't the whole point of white bras that they don't show through stuff?) but NO, I spent the day with gleaming neon bright boobs poking through my T-shirt. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteThe ric-rac is super-cute!

hahahaha!!! I probably would have put on a black bra too. :) Love the ric rac! I have some vintage packs from my grandma's sewing shop. Must use them.
ReplyDeleteHAAHAHAHA I love the black bra part. So funny.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I recently inherited some green ric-rac and had no idea what to do with it. I'm going to have to try this. :)
ReplyDeletewhat a cute detail! and your pink hair is suuuuuper adorable on you.
ReplyDeleteI just thrifted a dress for my toddler that has ric-rac and I was just a little jealous. Now I can add some to one of mine! I am big on throwing everything in the washer though...I wonder if the glue gun glue will hold. Did you use fabric glue sticks or just regular ones?
ReplyDeletei just used a regular glue stick. no work yet on whether it lasts through the wash! Another option would be sewing the ric-rac on by running a stitch through the middle of the ric-rac. that would definitely hold in the wash!
ReplyDeleteI really like this. So simple yet it does so much, I can think of a dress that black ric-rac would look perfect on!
