As I mentioned, last weekend we had my cousins and their friend over to help make fabric flowers for the bouquets and centrepieces. The boys took on the job of wrapping mason jars in yarn and they turned out soooo good! I am always nervous to let people help with things but last Sunday was such a fantastic day. It is really fun to make things with people! Thanks Lana, John and Kim, you guys were awesome!!! Here are a few peeks at what we have been working on.
I've been playing around a bit with my macro filters (thanks for the recommendation kaylah!)
That one fabric is photographing pretty orange-y. I think I might use more of the gingham instead, it looks so pretty!
Today I am off to a wedding shower (my own). I'm a bit nervous about the attention and I'm not great at making conversation with people but I think it will be fun. What are you up to today?

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the flowers... I went flowerless but if I had 'flowers' I definitely would have used fake ones like these... adorable!
ReplyDeleteToday I'm a bridesmaid, speaking of weddings!! XD My friend is getting married to her man of 4 years. I'm so stoked for them!!
I love that idea, and so much easier to keep a bit of your centerpiece than traditional flowers! I'm the same Type A. When I had my bridesmaids and groomsmen help cut the paper petals for our program fans, I was soooo nervous they'd turn out awful and I'd need to reprint! (I'm horrible, I know, lol)
ReplyDeleteso precious! fabulous idea!
ReplyDeleteaw they look absolutely beautiful! Everytime you post a new little sneak into the pieces of your wedding, I get all excited for when the big day arrives, and really can't wait to see those photos!!! :D xx
ReplyDeletesuch an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteso perfect!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers!! :D
ReplyDeleteThe yarn on the jars looks really amazing - such a simple way to really dress things up! I'm really enjoying seeing all the projects you're doing. My project for today is to finally get back to spinning up some fiber after months of leaving my spindle in the closet.
ReplyDeletebeautiful- the boys did a great job and those flowers look lovely.

ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous elycia!! Looks like you had so much fun! I'm sure your wedding is going to be amazing :) Have fun at your wedding shower! Today, I went to a farm and got to see little piglets! They were adorable, and it was so sad to think that they would eventually become... bacon :(

aw yay! happy wedding shower! everything is looking SO great elycia!!
ReplyDeletep.s. my aunt found your blog the other day (she is not a blogger nor does she care about blogs really) and she sent me the link to your "whats in my bag" post, she was so excited that you had Funk Off! lip balm in there. haha! she asked if we knew each other or if it was just coincidence...i said "we totally know eachother!...kind of...shes my happy friend north of the border!"...and then she pointed out that your wedding is exactly one month to the day away from ours...totally meant to be! ;)
sending love!
xoxo.
It all looks wonderful. I know how you feel about having people help you! I get really nervous too, mainly because I am a perfectionist. Also, I have a particular way about doing everything, and I (with my silly ego) feel that my way must be the best. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love the photos, great use of the filters :]
Such a great idea!, these are wonderful and will look so pretty on your tables on the big day. Have a lovely wedding shower :)
