When I was in Grade 7 I discovered the Lisa Loeb album Tails. I loved it then and I still love it now. Back in 2004 my bandmates and I went to see Lisa Loeb in Toronto. It was an amazing show and she even did an autograph session afterwards.
I actually don't have any of her other albums (although I have heard them and like them) but I love listening to Tails every now and then. (I'm listening to it right now, haha)
This song is one of my favourites.
Isn't Lisa so cute! She always has awesome glasses too. Actually I just found out right this minute that she has a glasses line!
Is there any band or artist that you loved as a kid that you are still into today?
♥elycia
Does Aqua count lol?
ReplyDeletehaha, yes. are you a barbie girl?
ReplyDeleteOh, memories! In college I was totally into Dave Mathews Band and I'm instantly transported back in time whenever I hear DM's voice!
ReplyDeleteI love her too, stay was definitely a favorite song - did you ever watch her dating show?
ReplyDeleteUmmm.. I was like the biggest Lisa Loeb fan! I love Sandalwood! I will have to check out those glasses now!
ReplyDeletei didn't watch her dating show. was it good?
ReplyDeletejenny, i love sandalwood too! such a pretty song!
Periodically I'll bust out some Ace of Base or Savage Garden...
ReplyDelete(shhh...don't tell!)
You've probably never heard of them, but when I was growing up (say from about 9-13) I absolutely loved a British boyband called Take That. They were cheesy as hell, but I loved them!
ReplyDeleteThey reformed again about two years ago, and as a favour to my mom (who's slightly obsessed with them now that they're a "manband") I'm going to see them in concert in June. Eep!
meh - the show wasn't the best, I just liked to see inside her life.
ReplyDeleteI don't own any Lisa Loeb albums but I know that song by heart! One of my first CDs was the soundtrack from the movie Reality Bites and this song is on there. I used to make my family members watch me perform this song with my hairbrush mic. ;D
ReplyDeletepink hibiscus, i do know take that! i loved the song 'back for good' when i was in elementary school! that was one of the songs i can remember taping off the radio, hehe.
ReplyDeletemary, i have never actually seen reality bites! i love hairbrush microphone performances :)

ReplyDeletethat album will ALWAYS been amazing. i should probably download it because i think i only own it on tape >_<
ReplyDeleteAgreed! And I love that her kitchen is filled with Hello Kitty appliances.
ReplyDeleteJoy Division, since i was a wee one! Disorder and Transmission were always bedroom dancing faves. Div and I dance around to these now with our son Frankie - we're such nerds!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn Manson, heh heh. Yeah, I admitted it.
ReplyDeletewow that takes me back, i love love that album, i was going through quite a difficult relationship at the time and this album was one of many that was on constant repeat :) *sigh* this is the only album i have of hers too x
ReplyDeleteYes a few but L7 is the one that comes to mind first! gggrrrrr!
ReplyDeleteAhh
ReplyDeleteI loved that album too, Sandalwood was my favorite!
I didn't know she designed glasses!
Cute!
Haha @ the Aqua comment :D I still like Aqua, and just about all the stuff I liked when I was little minus the boy bands. I've still got a bit of Spice Girl love too :P~
ReplyDeleteLisa definitely has a special place in my heart. I feel like she is my awesome older sister. :D I've also been looking for these style frames for FOREVER, but can't seem to find them. :/ The ones I have now are like rounded rectangles.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to be a sponsor this month! We love you, Elycia!!!

i still love lisa loeb! because i wear glasses a lot of my past co-workers used to "jokingly" call me lisa >.< she's great though! my guilty music pleasure from back in the day would be Hanson. They are still making music and they still rock and I can't help but love them! ^_^
ReplyDeletehave a great day!!!
Okay, I agree with the above! Hanson all the way, baby :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Spice Girls! :)
ReplyDeleteI became enamoured with Matthew Good in my early teens and he is still my idol/favourite musician today! (AND, I've met him 3 times! I may post about him and my love for him on the blog now that you got me thinking...)
ReplyDeletePS. Sorry for the deleted comment on the Farva hiding post... I accidentally left this comment on there first...whooops!
I still listen to New Kids on the Block. ;)
ReplyDeleteI just spent the last half hour obsessing over her eyewear line! Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Lisa Loeb (doesn't hurt that she's a huge hello kitty fan too!!)
The Beatles!! love 'em :)
ReplyDeleteSmashing Pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteOoh! I do like her glasses range :) I'll have to remember her as and when I need new frames/lenses. I especially like her 'wishing heart' frames in eggplant and aqua...
ReplyDeleteAs for the bands, most of what I listen to now is what I used to listen to now. I love A-ha, Bowie, Bjork, T-Rex - a real mix, *ha ha!*
i love that song "stay"
ReplyDeleteas for still liking bands, i still like hanson. i even remember when i was younger and i got their cassette tape- i was so excited about it! haha
<3b
Aaw, I was just digging through my old cds and was reminded of her rad glasses. :) She was ahead of her time! My sister had her cd growing up, and it wasn't until years late I stole it - 'How' is still one of my favorite songs *ever*. And 'Jake'. And 'Truthfully' - all from the 'firecracker' album. :) Love!
